Hello and Welcome to Vaseguy.com
My name is John Quinn. I am an Artist - Designer living and working
on Saltspring Island which is located on Canada's West Coast.
In the Saltspring Market I'm known as the Vaseguy because
I've sold my masonry art vases in the market since 1998. I expect to be selling in the Salt Spring Island Saturday Market in the 2024 season.
CAST IN STONE masonry art vases are designed and handmade at my studio on Saltspring Island.
Each is a unique piece that will never be replicated. They
are made using a blend of techniques borrowed from
Lapidary, Mosaic and Stone Masonry.
Cork feet to
protect your furniture and an incorporated glass
liner make every vase a truly functional piece of
Functional Art.
Interested in Buying a Vase?
If you can't make it to Saltspring
(yes, we spell it either way) I'm happy to
ship my work directly to you and I do so on a satisfaction or money
back basis. So check out my
"Vases for Sale
Page" for more information on the vases and to
make a secure online purchase.
Alternatively, take a look through my "Stone
Vase Archive" for a past work that might catch
your eye. I can never completely replicate a vase, but I
may be able to produce one in the same stone and mineral
combination. I always send pictures of the completed vase for approval, when
work is ordered this way, before requesting payment.
Visiting Salt Spring Island?
If you are considering a visit to Saltspring,
please take a look at my
"Saltspring Market" page. There you will find links
to Saltspring Market website and through that links to
everything else our fine little island has to offer.
Looking for a Salt Spring Island Stone Mason? I am
sometimes asked if I do other stone masonry work on Salt Spring such
as fireplaces, rock walls and stone steps. I don't do that type
of masonry work myself. However I
wholeheartedly recommend my long time friend, Salt Spring Stone
Mason William MacLean who has extensive masonry experience on
Saltspring Island as well in Whistler, Galiano Island and else where
in B.C. You can see an impressive record of his great stonework on his
website: wildstoneworks.com
